Instead of banning seclusion rooms, proposed state legislation will probably try to regulate their use.
State Sen. Scott Rupp, R-2nd District, who proposed a ban two weeks ago, on Monday said he would write a substitute bill geared toward establishing guidelines for when and how schools can use the rooms.

I am so sorry to hear about this development. After I saw the article on the Partners listserve I immeadiately emailed Sen. Rupp and Rep. Parkinson to express my disappointment. Seems like FHSD is acting like a bully, they will let the legislators tour the seclusion rooms, but not let the rest of us see them via a tv report.
