A bill working its way through the state Legislature would restrict the use of restraints and seclusion in schools.
After a decade with no success, members of a state disability rights group hope their effort has enough momentum this time around.
A growing list of states are putting laws on the books intended to reduce the use of seclusion and restraints with students, which can often have dangerous consequences, according to Jeff Spitzer-Resnick, managing attorney for Disability Rights Wisconsin, which helped write the bill that was introduced on Friday.
